They recently held an online auction with Auction Frogs. We spoke with Don Dutton, Finance Director of David’s House, to gain some insight into how the auction reached such great success. Don told us about the advertising and promotion methods used for the event. Three main methods were utilized: local radio announcements, Facebook and e-mail. All three channels were effective in creating awareness for the event and driving traffic to the auction website. Don described how the Auction Frogs platform was a very unique format that made it an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Don also mentioned that there was one other factor that contributed to the success: it was the 7th year in a row that David’s House has put on an auction. As an organization, they’ve gathered a dedicated following of individuals that commit themselves to supporting David’s House every year. Making sure those followers were aware of the event was crucial to their success and social media helped greatly in that aspect.
