‘Tis the season for golf tournaments! Here at Auction Frogs, we have a number of clients that are hosting golf tournaments for charity. What a fun way to support a great cause! One of those clients is TitleOne, a title and escrow company out of Idaho. This year will be their 14th golf tournament and they’ve chosen two local non-profits to benefit: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho and Boys & Girls Club of Nampa. Weinterviewed Michelle Wood, the Marketing Communications Director at TitleOne, to get to knowa little more about their fundraiser.
Tell us a little bit about TitleOne and how it got started.
We’re a locally-owned title and escrow company in business since 2000. A small group of entrepreneurs got together and decided to start a “different” kind of Title Company. They agreed on a simple concept: Become a part of the American Dream by providing legendary service, hire the best professionals in Idaho, create a fun, friendly work environment and let the team members own the business. It worked!
Tell us more about the Charity Golf Tournament and how long it’s been going.
This is our 14th year for the Charity Golf Classic. One of TitleOne’s core values is community support. Since the inception of the TitleOne Charity Golf Classic, we have proudly donated more than a quarter million dollars to children-focused charities.
A quarter million–wow! Do the proceeds from both the auction and tournament benefit Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho and Boys & Girls Club of Nampa?
Yes. All proceeds from both the tournament and auction will be donated to Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Boys & Girls Club.
What do those charities represent that inspired your support?
Through CharityOne–our community service arm, TitleOne is committed to serving children of Idaho through our volunteer efforts and donations. The CharityOne Golf Classic has been a great opportunity to make a big impact in the community.
Do you pick a different charity each year?
We’ve donated to 8 different organizations throughout our tournament history.
What a great way to give back to the community! What’s your fundraising goal for this year?
This year’s goal is to raise $35,000 including the tournament and the auction.
You have a lot of great, local items in your online auction. A lot of clients wonder about soliciting donors. How does your team approach that process and collecting items? Any tips?
It’s truly a team effort. Our Leadership and Sales team has built many relationships within the community–we reach out and ask for support. The best tip I have is don’t be afraid to ask!
Thanks Michelle! Before we go, are there any special memories from past tournaments that stand out?
I’d say our best memories are every year when we hand over the checks to the beneficiary charities. We are so proud, and they’re so thankful!
How inspiring! We’re honored to work with TitleOne and wish them the best of luck! Take a look at their Online Auction that started today and be a part of the support for Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Boys & Girls Club. You may even win some cool auction items!
