The Children.s Museum of the Arts and PS 347 The American Sign Language and English Lower School recently teamed up to host a fundraiser to benefit the Artists-in-Residency program for PS 347. The mission of the program is to .provide a joyful learning environment that celebrates the education, growth and difference of each and every student. with an .engaging and rigorous curriculum offered in ASL and Standard English, and supported in small classes that provide children the opportunity to achieve their personal best.. The CMA works with PS 347 to teach art to over 270 children, many of whom have never had an art education. The program builds confidence in students who have a new avenue in which to express themselves.
To fundraise for this amazing program The CMA and PS 347 partnered with Auction Frogs to manage live and online auction events. A family-friendly event was held at the Children.s Museum of the Arts and the Auction Frogs Event Management software was used to coordinate the silent auction including selling tickets, cataloging auction items and receiving donations. Additionally, there was an online auction also powered by Auction Frogs which helped to bring in over $21,000 for the cause.
“Auction Frogs made the PS 347 Fundraiser a complete success. On their site, we were able to do basically everything: sell tickets, get donations and of course, the online auction.” Said Jennifer Hofmann of PS 347. “Their point person was available pretty much whenever we needed her- even on the weekends. I would definitely recommend Auction Frogs to other schools!”
Overall the combined efforts were a great success and were able to raise funding for an amazing cause. With these funds the program can continue to bring art education to the children of PS 347.
